‘Shot 104 mph’ Duran becomes third ML→’follows Chapman’

Averaging more than 101 mph on his fastball, Johan Duran (25, Minnesota Twins) has joined the pantheon of hard-throwing pitchers.

Minnesota hosted the San Francisco Giants at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, on April 25.

Duran, who was Minnesota’s final pitcher of the day regardless of save requirements, threw 13 pitches (12 for strikes) in 2/3 of an inning, allowing one run on one hit and striking out two.먹튀검증

Minnesota went on to win 7-1 behind a batting explosion, five innings of one-run ball from starter Joe Ryan and four scoreless innings of relief. Ryan picked up his seventh win of the season.

The biggest story of the game was Duran. He took the mound with one out in the ninth inning and unleashed three pitches over 104 mph. The fastest was 104.6 mph (about 168.3 kilometers).

This makes Duran just the third pitcher in history to hit 104 mph or higher. Previously, Aroldis Chapman and Jordan Hicks topped 104 mph.

Chapman is the best in the category. She topped out at 106 mph and threw 104 mph or faster 66 times, followed by Hicks with 12.

It will be interesting to see if Duran, who has been throwing 101 mph fastballs this season after 100.9 mph last year, can surpass Chapman and Hicks.
