One out count through 116 reverse pitches… Hurado “It was lucky to throw up to the 9th inning”

Ariel Furado, a foreign pitcher for the Kiwoom Heroes, unfortunately failed to win a complete game, leaving one out count in 116 pitches. Still, it was Hurado who showed fantastic pitching that brought the team back to 5th place.메이저사이트

Hurado started against the Gocheok Doosan Bears on June 24 and contributed to the team’s 4-2 victory with 7 hits, 2 strikeouts, 2 walks and 2 runs (1 earned) in 8.2 innings.

On this day, Hurado gave a four ball to lead hitter Su-bin Su in the beginning of the first inning, but led follow-up hitter Heo Gyeong-min into a double stroke to get off to a fresh start.

After leading the inning well with double strokes in the beginning of the 2nd inning, Rado was in danger of 2 outs on 1st and 3rd base after two outs in the beginning of the 4th inning with a double from Yang Eui-ji and an infield hit from Kang Seung-ho. Hurado prevented a run by inducing the follow-up hitter Yang Seok-hwan to a third baseman ground ball.

The first run came in the top of the 5th inning. In the 5th inning with a 2-0 lead, Hurado was hit by a timely 1 RBI double from Sue-Bin Jung in a crisis where he gave up 2nd out with an infield hit and a sacrifice bunt. However, Hurado caught Heo Gyeong-min as a grounder and suppressed additional runs.

Hurado rather showed a more stable pitching flow in the second half of the game. After sprinting for three consecutive innings from the 6th to the 8th innings, Rado went on the mound at the beginning of the 9th inning and tried to win by throwing a complete game.

Hurado gave Yang Eui-ji a walk and Kang Seung-ho a hit after a run in the top of the ninth inning. After catching the follow-up hitter Yang Seok-hwan with a ground ball, Rado left only one out count until the complete game. However, shortstop Kim Hui-jip made an error in throwing when the follow-up hitter Rojas hit the ball, so the run increased by one more point.

In the end, when Hurado’s pitches increased to 116, the Kiwoom bench decided to replace the pitcher. Closing pitcher Lim Chang-min climbed the mound and struck out pinch hitter Hong Seong-ho on a swing and ended the game in a crisis with 2 out 1 and 3 base.

After the game, Kiwoom coach Hong Won-ki said, “Hurado missed the complete pitch unfortunately, but he fought with all his might. He played his role perfectly, showing good chemistry with Lee Ji-young. In the offense, Hyung-Jong Lee’s 2 RBIs and a timely hit in the 3rd inning secured the victory, and Hye-Sung Kim’s home run and Won-Seok Lee’s timely hit in the 8th put a wedge. It is meaningful that I gave victory as a gift to Yokishi, who is leaving for the United States after today’s farewell ceremony. I express my deep gratitude to Yokishi for the great performance he has shown to the team.”

Hurado met with reporters after the game and said, “It’s okay because it’s already been a long time since I missed a complete victory. He considers it lucky that he threw the ball into the ninth inning. More than anything, he is satisfied with the fact that he created a chance for the team to win. It worked well for me to try to pitch in my style today. He continued to create double hits as the ball went to the fielders, and it was easy to play,” he said with delight.

It was also a victory for Eric Yokisi, who participated in the farewell event that day. Furado said, “I am so sorry and sad that Yokishi is leaving. He was a good colleague and friend. In front of Yokishi, I am satisfied with the good pitching and contributing to the team’s victory. I will continue to support his future.”

Furado was also delaying the rest that would be given to him to make up for Yokishi’s injury void.

Hurado said, “It was not easy to take a break because Yokishi was injured. He seems to have thrown a little over 90 innings now, but he has exceeded the number of innings last year. If he takes a short break to recover his arm condition, he will provide the impetus to throw healthily in the second half in the future.”

Lastly, Hurado said, “I heard that Korean fans are interested in my hometown, Panama. I would like to introduce you to one of the few truly beautiful countries in the world. The beach is also really beautiful. The language and culture are somewhat different, but I hope many Korean fans will be surprised in Panama.”
