Hanwha infield prospect who trained with Lee Dae-ho overcomes trials and soars with a new name

The ordeal is over. Hanhwa infield prospect Kim Geon (23) 메이저사이트 is looking for an emergency with a new name.

Kim Geon, a right-handed infielder from Gyeongnam High School, was nominated by Hanwha in the 53rd overall in the 2nd 5th round in 2019. From the first year of his debut, his talent was recognized enough to play as the main second baseman for the Futures team in the second team. In 2020, he debuted on the first team stage and played only 4 games, but he showed potential with 2 hits in 5 at-bats.

However, in September of that year, he seriously injured his right knee after colliding with a fellow player during a Futures League match. He was declared exempt from military service due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament, but it took 11 months before he returned to action with the Futures in August of the following year. It was his first full-time season since his rehabilitation, and he played 56 games last year, batting 2.5 with 8 runs, 3 home runs and 18 RBI.

Gun Kim, who is training in Seosan as a member of the Futures team, said, “When I first got injured, I thought, ‘Can I play baseball again?’ It was difficult at the time, but I gained a lot through the process. He said a lot of good things to people around him, and I was able to focus on my rehabilitation without thinking about it. Now, his operated knee has fully recovered.”

He continued, “I felt a lot of lack while playing the full season last year. If I thought it was good to work hard, now I know a little bit about what kind of exercise suits me and what kind of thinking I should play.”

Off-season training was also an extension of that. In his hometown of Busan, he trained with Gyeongnam High School classmate and teammate Noh Si-hwan and one-year senior Han Dong-hee (Lotte). After retiring at the end of last year, Lee Dae-ho, who is busy with broadcasting activities, also spent time with his high school juniors while training individually for the entertainment program ‘Strongest Baseball’.

Kim Gun said, “Lee Dae-ho came to the training ground whenever he had time. He helped me find the right direction for me while playing baseball. He said, “I heard advice on how to practice and survive (professional),” he said.

Gun Kim, who has shown strength in batting contact since high school, said, “Bashing is important, but now I think more about defense. Last year, I saw almost all positions in the infield. If you go to the first team, you have to start from the backup, so it was good to have a good experience in various places. I will prepare to enter anywhere this year,” he said. “I want to learn the defense that Japanese players do during the spring camp in Kochi, Japan (starting on the 8th).” The Hanwha Futures team develops a sense of real combat through 9 practice matches with Japanese independent league teams.

Gun Kim also changed his name in April of last year. His original name was Kim Hyeon-min, but he was given a new name, Gatestrip Geon (楗), at a naming agency in Busan famous for renaming Son A-seop (NC). A door bolt is a bar that closes and locks the door across. Kim Geon said, “His parents wanted to change his name, and he changed his name to play baseball well without injury. He said, “This year, my goal is to go to the first team and play as many games as possible.
