Full house for Pohang’s 50th anniversary match, with only 50 seats remaining

The Pohang Steelers are on the verge of selling out their 50th anniversary match against Jeonbuk Hyundai.

Pohang, coached by Kim Ki-dong, will host Jeonbuk in the 15th round of the Hana One Q K League 1 2023 on 29 April at 4.30pm at the Steelyard. The match will mark the 50th anniversary of Pohang’s founding.

Pohang announced that five Pohang Hall of Fame inductees – Lee Hoe-taek, Lee Heung-sil, Gong Moon-bae, Park Tae-ha, and Hwang Sun-hong – will visit the stadium to celebrate. He also said that an induction ceremony will be held for additional Hall of Fame inductees Kim Kwang-seok, Hwang Jin-sung, Shin Shinh-yong and Hwang Ji-soo.

There will also be special prizes worth 35 million won, including one Chevrolet Traxis crossover LS car provided by Forsk and GM Korea, an LG 65-inch TV, two LG laptops, and five Apple iPad Airs provided by the Pohang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a congratulatory performance by Jeon Yoo-jin, a high school singer from Pohang who made a big splash by appearing on Miss Trot 2.

At the Steelyard North Gate Plaza booth, the commemorative magazine THE 50: From Dreamers to Achievers will be available for pre-order and on-site sales. THE50 is a booklet that captures the last 50 years of Pohang’s history in a football magazine format that is more accessible to fans who have never seen a football magazine before.스포츠토토

In addition, the 50th anniversary club song, “Let’s Run for Victory,” featuring 40 players and supporters, including head coach Kim Ki-dong. We Are Steelers’ music and music video will be released to fans via electronic boards. Players will wear special uniforms to commemorate the 50th anniversary. It features the same orange colour that was used in the first year of the team’s existence, symbolising the orange glow of muddy water.

Meanwhile, Pohang said that Jeonbuk’s game was attracting so much attention from fans that there were only about 50 seats left in the 15,000-seat stadium. It is expected that Jeonbuk will go into the match with a full stadium and plenty of support.
